History
Will Hines, a longtime teacher and performer who trained at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in both New York and Los Angeles, founded the school with online improv classes, teams and jams in April 2020.
In March 2022, Jim Woods joined Will as they expanded to offer in person classes and shows in Los Angeles. That summer, Sarah Claspell also joined as an owner. Starting in 2023, WGIS began offering classes in New York City.
WGIS wants to draw like-minded people together and let them appreciate each other's sensibilities, celebrate each other's creativity and push them to be great artists and people.
