An longform musical improv comedy group in New York City.
History
Veal was formed initially as a practice group comprised of members of Eliza Skinner's musical improv 101 class at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. The group had its first performance at Under St. Marks on Sunday, May 11 at 7 PM with Fat Penguin as the opening act. Veal is coached by Stuart Ranson of Baby Wants Candy and is accompanied by Frank Spitznagel on piano.
The group's name came from Jeff Hiller, an early coach, who compared a song during a rehearsal to a "tender piece of veal."
Current Members
Abby Holland, Andy Weiss, Doug Gordon, Kristen Aldrich, Jason Nettle, Susan Pickover
Members of Veal have worked for TV shows such as "Best Week Ever" and "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire." Others have appeared in Broadway touring companies.
