Travis Ploeger is a musician who specializes in the art of improvising musicals.

From 1998 to 2006 he was a music director and performer with Chicago City Limits. In addition to performing with CCL, he music directed and/or accompanied many improv, sketch and comedy shows in NYC, including the sketch group Mouth, the improvised comic-book show Ka-Baam!!, and The Best Albino Show with Victor Varnado. He performed numerous times at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, in productions such as the mock children's show Listen, Kid... His own The Monday Night Musical enjoyed a run at the Peoples Improv Theater, and he was a founding member of the group I Eat Pandas.

He is particularly proud of being asked to be the accompanist for the one-night "backer's show" for the show about a "backer's show," Gutenberg! The Musical!.

In 2006 he moved to the DC area, where he is currently a teacher, composer, director and musician with Washington Improv Theater, creating such shows as iMusical: The Improvised Musical.
