Tony Rodriguez is an actor and writer living in NYC. He is currently a member of the UCB Harold Team The Bishop. Tony's instructors at the UCB since 2007 have included Anthony King, Shannon O'Neill, Charlie Todd, Anthony Atamanuik and Dyna Moe. Tony was born in Birmingham, AL and grew up in North Carolina, Mexico City and New Jersey until his family stopped moving when they got to Miami, FL. He attended the University of Florida where he earned un-marketable degrees in Theatre, Religion and English. Tony moved to New York in 1998 having already had his off-Broadway premiere in a play that Federico Garcia Lorca denied having written. Other stage credits include SPRING AWAKENING (the play), TRUE WEST and an attempted production of TEA AND SYMPATHY. FringeNYC called Tony's performance in RAPS for the New York International Fringe Festival "gut-wrenching." Somewhere out there is a copy of a commercial he was in from 1997 for a coupon book sold at movie theatres in Central Florida. Please destroy it. Tony has co-written and performed in short films for the Autonomous Astronauts and Karmatonic and is a member of the sketch film group Dreamhorse Films. He can also be seen performing with the improv groups Oscarbait (The Movie form) and Secret Promise Circle. He feels compelled to confess that he has done his share of short-form improv and has studied Meisner technique. Tony is grateful for family, friends and The Golden Girls.
