The PIT Underground is the basement of The Peoples Improv Theater. For performances, it features a stage approximately 24' by 10' feet, a seating area for up to 65-70 people, and a green room. It also has office space for theater staff.

Before construction of the new PIT was underway, the downstairs was not usable as a performance space. Originally viewed as a possible rehearsal/storage area for the shows upstairs, The PIT Underground now provides opportunities for indie teams, students and performers from everywhere a chance to get on stage.

The first show in The PIT Underground was Student Driver hosting Indie Road on January 30th, 2011.
