The Impromptones were a Los Angeles-based musical improv group in the late 90's. Their line up included Whose Line Is It Anyway? regular Jeff Davis, ComedySportz Los Angeles founder James Thomas Bailey, CSzLA performer Joe Whyte, and improvisational pianist Michael Pollock.

The Impromptones played nightclubs and cafes in the Los Angeles area, and performed regularly at the Cinegrill Hotel in Hollywood. They released one album during their time together, entitled Steamy Monday. It is composed of live recordings from a few of their shows, and features all improvised lyrics and music. Their shows were not an improv form of any kind, but rather an improvised musical performance. The singers simply stood on stage and sang.
