Stranger is a PIT House Team that performs in repertory on Super Free Wednesday at 8pm at The Peoples Improv Theater.

History

The team was originally assembled by the PIT's ensemble committee on January 10th, 2011. Members had recently been shuffled from previous PIT House Teams Senator, Darling, and Lethal Kitty. Lucas Zachary Hazlett and Micah Sherman were new House Team Members when the team was created.

Their first show took place on January 12th, 2011 to a sold out audience at The Peoples Improv Theater.

Name Origin

The name Stranger is a direct reference from the first show the team performed together, when they were still unnamed. In their first group game together as a team, every member of Stranger played a band-mate to a drunken Billy Joel trying unsuccesfully to record tracks for his eventual 1977 album "The Stranger".

Memorable Shows

On February 2nd, 2011, Stranger performed the Groundhog Day Show, a form they created moments before walking onstage for their Super Free Wednesday time-slot.

On Saturday, June 25th, 2011, Stranger filled in for Big Black Car on their 8pm showcase. To date, Stranger, Big Black Car and The Baldwins are the only PIT-developed talent to perform in this featured showcase timeslot.
