The Seattle Festival of Improv Theater (founded in 2001). SFIT is an annual five-day festival of improvisational theater and comedy in Seattle. Groups from all over North America and the world descend upon the city to perform at two great venues.

Each SFIT includes:

a tremendous variety of improv shows at two venues over 5 days; a commitment to unique styles and presentations of improv; a variety of improv workshops taught by instructors from around the continent; improv Masterclasses; parties, parties, parties; The Dust-Up (our unique answer to the typical festival “improv jam”)

Mission Statement

SFIT is the national leader in festivals of Improvisational Theater. This festival showcases the best artistry in the nation, and pushes the boundaries of what is possible in this art form. SFIT also galvanizes the Pacific Northwest community, and establishes Seattle and JCI as the center of the artistic hub of Improv in America.

The Seattle Festival of Improvisational Theater (SFIT) strives to:

Serve our audiences with the highest quality and variety of diverse performances possible. Educate the audience as to the depth and variety of improvisational theater that is being currently produced. Provide the highest quality performing and teaching experience for our attending improv professionals. Provide opportunities for growth and networking to all participants. The festival is performed in two venues: Jet City Improv and the SFIT Second Stage (aka the Ethnic Cultural Theater).

The 2019 (17th annual) Seattle Festival of Improv Theater saw 90+ performers representing 21 improv comedy groups from 10 North American cities performing in 12 shows over 5 nights at 2 venues.
