Oracle

A strange form used in class by Del Close where one player would be designated as the oracle. The other players would be like the priests of ancient Greece. First they would gather an important question to explore from the audience. Then they would create a ritual around the oracle, attempting to put that player into a trance like state. This could go on for some time, until the player would erupt into a stream of conscious babel, filled with non-sequitors, gibberish and random thoughts that might in some way be connected to the original question. Once the oracle is spent, the players would then interpret the oracle by creating scenes based on what the oracle said. On some occasions, Del would encourage us to attempt to draw conclusions from the scenes to answer the original question as a way to end the piece.
