McManus

A bar at 7th avenue and 19th street in NYC where many UCBT performers and students hang out after shows.

History

The community got accustomed to going there when the theater was located on 161 West 22nd Street, which was very nearby. When the theater moved to 26th street, people walked the extra avenue and four blocks at least partly out of habit. Also, closer bars were too crowded or expensive.

Many improvisers' best and worst nights of their lives have happened at McManus.
