Matt Fried

Matt Fried is a writer and improviser living in New York City. He is a former member of Bad Luck Rising, and has previously performed with The Best Of... Fried & Mandeville and Border Patrol. He has studied and performed at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and The Peoples Improv Theater in New York, and at Improv Olympic (iO) in Chicago. He has studied under Ari Voukydis, Chris Gethard, Kurt Braunohler, Matt Donnelly, Liz Allen, Ali Farahnakian, and Alex Fendrich, among others.

Matt writes humorous - and sometimes sadly autobiographical - contributions for the social networking website, Guidespot and his own blog,

Presently, Matt produces the late night talk show The Matt Fried Hour with Chris O'Neil and improvises in M&C, with Chris O'Neil.


Holds a BFA in Theater Arts from Long Island University - C.W. Post Campus

In high school, studied Shakespeare at a summer study abroad program at Oxford University.

Is a member of Actors Equity Association.

Matt's grandfather, Irving "Bud" Fried, was a pioneer in the audio industry and founder of Fried Products.
