James Eason has studied improv with all four UCB members, Armando Diaz, Brian McCann, Joe Bill, Dave Pasquesi, et al. He's a charter member of Mother, formed Double Down, performs semi-regularly as one half of Furiouser and Furiouser (a duo with Jesse Falcon). He has performs in Tiny Spectacular at the Magnet Theater and was also in Gravid Water, Kartoon Kaos, Beauty Love Truth, Telethon, The Improv Honk Show, and many more.
He has appeared in the Upright Citizens Brigade TV show, Late Night w/Conan O'Brien, NBC's Kidnapped, the feature film Queen of Media, as well as a select few TV commercials, and numerous radio and TV voice overs. He was featured on the short-lived Jake & Jackie Show on WFNY (Free-FM) as "The Whizzer."
As a teacher, he is constantly seeking ways to unlock a student's potential to be as good an improviser as they can be without trying to fit them into a "mold." Usually this is done by getting them to incorporate some basic acting skills along with their improv skills. His teaching emphasis is informed and inspired by his studies with the UCB, Joe Bill, Dave Pasquesi, and Mick Napier's Improvise: Scene from the Inside Out. He continues to teach (and champion) Mother's signature form The Sleep Over and helped create a new longform called The Lone Gunman at the Magnet Theatre.
