Cast History

Illegal Refill was a prominent group in the Philadelphia improv scene. All six cast members were graduates of Haverford College, where most performed regularly on stage with Haverford improv institutions the Throng and the Lighted Fools. Illegal Refill performed in the 2008 and 2009 instances of the Philly Fringe Festival, the Philadelphia Improv Festival, and the Del Close Marathon, as well as the 2008 North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival and the 2008 Richmond Improv Festival.

Individually, the cast of Illegal Refill distinguished themselves within Philadelphia's rapidly growing improv community. Alexis Simpson (Rare Bird Show) was the Philly Improv Theater (PHIT)'s first Artistic Director. Scott Sheppard directs PHIT house team Fletcher. Amie Roe teaches curriculum classes at PHIT. Alexis Simpson, Nicholas Mirra, and Amie Roe all garnered victories in Philadelphia's competition-based improv serial, TROIKA. Coach Dan Kramer studied and performed at the iO Theater in Chicago Chicago, and would probably do more improv if he weren't studying to become a doctor-person.
