The game starts out by players standing around in a circle and asking, "Hey Fred Schneider, what are you doing?" Then one at a time, people sing a non-sequitur line in the voice of Fred Schneider, the lead singer of the B-52's.
Fred Schneider is a simple warm up that focuses on letting loose, imitation, and having fun.
Sometimes this warm-up is played by passing focus: after a person answers the question, he poses the question to somebody else. Once everyone has gone, the warm up is complete.
A higher-energy version can be played where the circle keeps a rhythm by clapping (hands, hips, hands, sides). The group asks the question in unison, and one person answers; then the group asks again and the person to the left or right answers this time, continuing around the circle.
