Deadliest Sketch
The sketch group started at The Bit Theater in 2021. The group produced a monthly sketch show of mostly new content.
The Deadliest Sketch produced sketch and monologues for the stage. Shows incorporated videos into performances. The cast also supported other sketch events like the "Characters" show put on by Xandiloquence Bizarre the Ab3rd
John E deBruin was the show director, and Michael Bradt was the artistic director.
The group known as Deadliest Sketch had one last performance at the farewell show for Michael and Kelsey Bradt. The final performance was from constantly rejected script originally titled Chili's Me-Too. The script was authored by Patrick Stinson in March of 2024, and was rejected after several overhauls and rewrites. One rewrite threw the original premise completely out the window and reimagined the sketch as a Twilight Zone-esque sketch.
The inside joke was that the sketch would never make it to the stage.
When it was announced that Michael Bradt and Kelsey Bradt were moving away, selling the theater, and that there would be a farewell show - the Deadliest Sketch team immediately knew what had to happen. The script was worked on one last time by the Deadliest Sketch writers. The scripts were placed in on stage menus which Michael and Kelsey could cold read from to perform this final sketch.
Chili's Too added a cameo by recurring character Timmy Zimmerman. Not only did this put a bow on the sketch, but reception by the cast, writers, and crowd was tremendous.
It was clear that Deadliest Sketch had peaked. The subsequent Deadliest Sketch July 2024 show was already being marketed, but work was already in flight to refresh the group.
Deadliest Sketch was reformed in July 2024. The group was renamed Sketchpants.
