Cleanest River in America
Cleanest River in America is a now-defunct sketch comedy group from New York City. They performed frequently from 2005-2007. Their final "farewell" show was on December 30th, 2007 in front of a packed, standing-room-only crowd at Rififi in the East Village of New York.
Cleanest River in America started as a three-piece group consisting of Dan Leif, Jake Goldman and Justin Robert Young in the summer of 2005. The three met at Syracuse University in a sketch group they had created, known as "Penguins Without Pants." Their first actual show was at the Improv Asylum in Boston on September 30th, 2005.
In 2006, Justin Young left the group and Jessica Stickles, also a Syracuse graduate, moved to the city to fill the void. In 2007, Goldman quit the group and was replaced by Daniel Luddy. The final show was performed by Luddy, Stickles, Leif and Goldman.
