Chicago City Limits is a New York–based improv comedy company, and New York's longest-running comedy revue. A direct descendent of Second City, it has more than 10,000 performances to it's credit.

Chicago City Limits is a short-form Improv revue, with both improvised and pre-written material.

Chicago City Limits was founded in 1977 in Chicago by George Todisco, Linda Gelman, Bill McLaughlin, Carol Schindler, Paul Zuckerman, Rick Crom and Christopher Oyen. All participated in the workshop program at The Second City, studying under Del Close. Oyen served as The Second City's stage manager, and Todisco, Bill McLaughlin and Carol Schindler all appeared in "The Del Close Farewell Salute to Chicago" in 1978. In 1979, Chicago City Limits relocated to New York, performing regularly at Catch a Rising Star, the Improv, the Duplex, Folk City and other notable NYC clubs. It established its own theater in the summer of 1980 on W 42nd Street (1 year), at the Jan Hus Playhouse (14 years) and at 1105 1st Avenue (9 years), before going on a brief hiatus and moving to The Broadway Comedy Club in 2004 (9 years) ending that run in 2013. In 2014 the troupe returned to the Jan Hus and it ended that run after 20 months. The group is still active for touring gigs and corporate events/training.

Over the years, Chicago City Limits has made numerous TV appearances, including The Today Show, McLaughlin, The Joan Rivers Show, The Jackie Mason Show, Comedy Central, PBS, and Good Day NY. The group appeared in its own TV new comedy series, "Reel News," on the USA network.

The Chicago City Limits touring company has been going for over 37 years. The group has appeared at such diverse venues as Lincoln Center, HBO's US Comedy Arts Festival, the Smithsonian Institution, The Super Bowl, and the Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon, as well as the Edinburgh Fringe'.
