Cherub Improv is a non-profit organization that partners with senior centers, nursing homes, hospice, hospitals, a children’s runaway and homeless shelter, a homeless outreach program, a cancer support organization, and others to perform and teach short-form improv and musical improv comedy for free. Since Cherub Improv’s debut performance in April 2007, over 50 volunteer performers have successfully completed over 200 improv comedy events for over 40 organizations throughout New York City and its surrounding areas (including Westchester County, Long Island, and New Jersey), and have numerous upcoming events. The group is directed by Jonathan Evan Goldberg (a full-time lawyer) and was co-founded by Jonathan, Steve Van Ooteghem and Joy Copeland, who all continue to perform with the group.
