Bench-Back-Booth is a two-person form made popular by Jim Carlson and John Lutz. The form consists of three scenes: one with two chairs facing forward, one with the chairs facing each other, and one with the chairs facing backward. The show starts with three scenes, each about 5 minutes long. A scene is edited when the chairs are moved into one of the three positions. Once each scene is established you can go to any scene of those three--- adding characters, accelerating the piece, and connecting the three scenes together whether through theme, relationship, dynamics, topic, etc.
