A to C
From IRC Improv Wiki
For the exercise of the same name, see A to C (exercise).
A to C is an improv concept. It refers to employing free association with the ideas generated in an opening or by a suggestion: improvisers should move from "A," the initial idea collected, skip past "B," the first thing that occurs to you after thinking about this idea, and finally use "C," a third idea, when initiating a scene.
Example
The suggestion "Range Rover" is taken. An A to C could look like Range Rover --> Safari --> Africa
- A Idea: A scene sitting in a Range Rover, driving down a highway.
- B Idea: A scene during a safari exploration.
- C Idea: A group of musicians recording a tribute song for impoverished children in Africa.
