Optimist International

Optimist International was a New York City based Harold Team at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. They performed their final show on September 21, 2004. For a long time, they held the record for most Cagematch victories in a row.

Known more commonly as OI, the team was known best for their balls out, fast paced organic openings. At one UCB meeting years after their dissolution, Kevin Mullaney kindly pointed to them as the pinnacle of organic work at UCB, and Gethard will never let you forget it.

OI was constantly on the cusp of joining the ranks of the mainstay weekend teams of the time, but consistent cast changes and self-created team mayhem prevented them from completely solidifying into such.
