Baby Wants Candy

The premier musical improv group from Chicago. BWC has been actively performing since 1997, with distinguished alumni galore. They improvise musicals with a live band. Most often, they could be seen in New York at the Del Close Marathon but now do runs at local theaters from time to time.

They ask the audience for a suggestion of a musical that's never been performed before.

History

BWC began as a house team at iO Chicago in the mid 1990's. They performed to sold out audiences several years at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and had their own Friday night show at iO Chicago which ran for several years.

The group performed a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe 2013 with a cast of Al Samuels, Ashley Ward, Nick Semar, Amber Petty, and Chris Grace. The musical directors were Jody Shelton and Dan Wessels.

Baby Wants Candy currently performs every Friday in Chicago.

BWC also began a new run in New York City starting February 16, 2013. The cast for this run includes Ashley Ward, Amber Petty, Winston Noel, and Chris Grace. The musical director is Jody Shelton.
